Indian Head Massage

Based on the traditional Indian system of Ayurveda, Indian head massage has been practised in India for over a thousand years. It uses a variety of massage techniques to the shoulders, upper arms, neck and head.

It can be effective in helping with the following conditions:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Lack of concentration and mental tiredness
  • Insomnia and disturbed sleep
  • Tension headaches, migraines and hangovers
  • Eye strain
  • Stiffness in the neck and shoulders
  • Sinusitis
  • Tinnitus
  • Hair loss

An Indian head massage can:

  • Increase energy levels
  • Improves skin condition
  • Promotes healthy, shiny hair
  • Strengthens the immune system
  • Enhances a sense of well being, calmness and tranquillity

How it works...

Indian Head massage is carried out with the person sitting in an upright chair. There is no need for undressing or the use of oils.

It relaxes the scalp and stimulates circulation, which tones up the subcutaneous muscles and relieves eyestrain and headaches.

It stimulates the elimination of muscle tension, restores joint movement and stretches and mobilizes the tissues of the neck and shoulders, making it especially beneficial to people experiencing pain and stiffness in these areas.
